We created The Family Edit to give families the tools to improve family life and create the life you desire. Family life can be overwhelming to manage with the juggle of tasks, children’s school and activities, work, events and expectations. It’s the equivalent to managing a small business and the primary carer of the children is often the General Manager with a staff of one! We aim to provide the inspiration, education and tools to allow you to elevate your family life, to make it easier and more fun!

Jo and Tahnia are both mums of three boys close in age. We have lived through all stages of parenting from babies to young adults. We have experienced how challenging it can be to manage family life whilst working part time or full time. We are both natural organisers, constantly developing systems and processes in family life to make managing the day to day as stress free as possible. We want to pass on all we have learnt and more to help young families manage their daily lives to have more fun and less stress! Let us help you learn how to organise, plan and create to improve your family life.

Meet Jo

Being a Mum of three young boys very close in age, I have been through lots of ups and downs since becoming a Mum. I have always loved being organised, though life seemed to get busier and more challenging as my boys grew.

I knew I had to create The Family Edit for the simple fact that I needed it myself! In this day and age, there is so much information out there, sometimes we just don’t have the time to find all the good stuff. We want to give you all the tips and tricks I have learnt and found in one spot.

Meet Tahnia

Tahnia is a mum of three boys too, all young adults. When I had my first child I was working in our family business, so I have not known motherhood without the ‘juggle’ of work at work and work at home. I started a business of my own with a 4yr old and a 2yr old (what was I thinking!) and ran it with my business partner for 9 years as the boys grew up and we had our 3rd child. We always prioritised me being the primary carer for our boys, as I wanted to impact their personal growth and who they have become as people and when I look at my boys now I know that was the right choice. I worked for myself to have the flexibility needed to be present, to do the pick ups, drop offs, school sports days, assemblies etc. My management career pre kids and family business was not conducive to part time work, and the flexibility that has finally become acceptable was non existent. When I eventually went back to a full time management role it was so much easier than being at home! My motherhood skills were transferred to managing adults, and I appreciated the patience, empathy and emotional intelligence I had gained as a mum. I did not realise how much of the mental load I still carried and my hubby willingly took on more of the physical tasks but the mental load had to be carefully and strategically changed to be shared. It was an interesting time and ultimately I realised I valued the variety and lifestyle of self employment so I have since been a Management Consultant for small businesses.

To create the life you want as a parent and the family life you want it takes a bit of effort but it pays off! Jo and I came together as organised, experienced women that want truly to help other women live the life they want. Those that are not naturally organised will benefit from our course and our other content but so too will those that love being organised. There is tips and tricks for all to live the healthy, happy, harmonious family life you dream of. It wont be a fix all as life can throw some curve balls but we do hope to help you streamline and organise your life to free your time for yourself and your family.

The key I have found to a cohesive, fun family life is being organised. Organised enough to prioritise myself as you cannot pour from an empty cup. Organised enough to have a home I feel happy to come home too. Organised enough that my husband and I have time for each other, our boys and the family and friendships that are important to us. We hope we can help you feel the same.
